Powdery mildew is taking over the winter squash bed but that is ok, the stems are nice and corky. I am really excited about one of the landrace varieties that I purchased seed from. The farm is in Virginia which is a completely different climate. I thought there was little chance that it would ripen here in western Washington, but to my surprise it was the first to do so.

Ooh, a Virginia landrace squash? What’s the variety / source?
I’ll get back to you I have to look it up. They have a shop on Etsy.

Thanks! That’s an unusual name for a Virginia squash 😂 I’ve gotta check this out
It is a landrace, but I think originally from the desert sw. my guess Nevada or Arizona.
I heard about it. But they were the only place I could find seed.
I had that happen early on with my zucchini. I heard to treat them with milk, which I tried. It seemed to work great
