@ODELL keeps referring to The Mandibles. I finally got down to reading it. Holy shit!!! I am not prepared. None of you are prepared!!!
In chapter 8 now. This has been wild.
 why not?
In the terrifying scenario that the monetary system fails, it’s every man for himself. Food, shelter, security etc is no longer guaranteed…most of us urban dwellers will be like fish out of water…so much that I had not considered…so unprepared for this worst case scenario.
but that complete civilization collapse hasn't happened in any other places that had hyperinflation, what will be different this time?
It’s the collapse of the world’s reserve currency of the global hegemony…the world is storing its wealth in US capital markets. Its collapse is the collapse of wealth everywhere. It’s a collapse in confidence globally.
 makes sense
it might be tough for anyone to be prepared after reading mandibles, but one good take home point is that the only thing that will work is a strong tight knit cooperative community
Fine. I just bought it. Here goes…
Also, remember that old TV show called Jericho? It was epic and spot on. Canceled after just 1 1/2 seasons not because it sucked but because it was too accurate.
We are prepared because we’ve already read it. 🤣🤣🤣
 Ok I've ordered it now.
 What's the tldr? 🤣
The novel is set in a dystopian near-future America (2029-2047) where the U.S. economy has collapsed due to overwhelming national debt and the replacement of the U.S. dollar as the global reserve currency.

The story follows the Mandible family, once wealthy and now struggling to survive after losing their inheritance due to the economic collapse. The novel explores how each family member adapts to the new reality, including issues like hyperinflation, scarcity of resources, and the breakdown of social order.
I’ll have to try reading it again…
 How succinct. 🤔
 Just downloaded for my flight.
As an unapologetically nerd 🤓 child 👧

World needs to read more books 📖
