 This UK right-wing tabloid tried to mock the EU commission by saying knitting was a sign the audience was bored. They did exactly the same thing a few years ago, so no one can accuse them of originality.

Maybe they just don't realise how common it is that Scandinavian women, like Ylva Johansson and Margaretha Vestager, like to knit?

 @b870d4c8 it's the same with Finns. It's quite common to hear the knitter enthusiast say that knitting actually makes them more focused. 
 @b870d4c8 This isn't really anything to do with politics, but a local cinema here has a knitting cinema thing, where they don't fully turn off the lights so that people can knit while they watch the movie.

Here in Denmark I know of someone who got told off by the conductor of a classical concert for that.

(Mind you, she was in the audience, not the orchestra)
