App builds cool features to attract users -> user base attracts advertisers -> app caters to advertisers so creators leave -> app creates incentives for creators to stay
I’m learning that advertising dollars are crazy, stupid money
I’m sure there will be clients that start implementing ads as grants become thinner and thinner and then that revenue can be further shared with content creators in addition to zaps and other unique monetization methods
And then there will be premium subscriptions to hide ads and a portion of that revenue will also be given out to creators that have high engagement like yourself
It starts developers building cool features and creators posting great content that don’t exist anywhere else
Look, I’m not a fan of ads, but it’s a proven model the market has adopted
And the reality is this:
Nostr clients are way more lightweight than legacy social media clients, which means Nostr can share a much higher percentage of ad revenue where traditional clients eventually won’t be able to because the overhead is too great
Basically what I’m saying is

Case in point:
Instagram employs over 20,000 people
We have @PABLOF7z
Nostr is a deflationary technology that allows smaller builders to reach larger audiences without the same risks that came with centralizing data that required ever growing oversight
It’s early days, friend https://image.nostr.build/efa57ec5f1d0c7d3f592576e81dc37b69a4618a21d43b1cd49529171aaac2798.jpg
To be fair, Pablo is equivalent to at least 21 of IG’s engineers 😂
At least!
I aspire to achieve half of that dude’s level of programming power in my lifetime
Look what they need to mimic a fraction of our bullshit 😂
Oh it will come for sure. Sooner than later I imagine.
