Australian SMSF Warning: Macquarie Bank has now blocked us from all Australian BTC exchanges. Switching to ANZ asap after verbal confirmation we can do what we want with our fiat.
Hilarious banks are actively giving people a great reason to dump fiat and move to a Bitcoin standard 😂
Who will be the first Aus bank CEO to embrace this!
I’m in the US but my personal goal is full BTC standard by 2028.
Australia once appeared to be a chillaxed place.
Yeah we used to be cool. Then this happened...https://m.primal.net/Mcln.png
 make it stopppppp 🥴
 that's insane
Exactly why I empty all my bank accounts regularly to buy bitcoin
Hi Nadia, do you know why? Can we expect the other banks to follow suit?
They have blocked all the BSBs from our SMSF. Their advice is that they are protecting us from scams. Clearly that’s a lie as they let us transfer from a non SMSF account. I can only assume the truth is they don’t want to see large amounts of superannuation money (which is actually the governments pot to tax later in our lives) leaving the system.

I’ve had a lot of trouble with CommBank from my personal account but they now allow max $10k to exchanges each month. Should be fine for most people to DCA each month.

ING - I’ve called them and they said they won’t support most exchanges with an SMSF.

NAB - apparently pretty good and allow $40k per day to Coinstash. I haven’t got firsthand experience.

ANZ - were great to talk to on the phone. For an SMSF you have to go in and set up an account at a branch and then they support transfers to CoinSpot. I’ve used CoinSpot and was happy with it.

The banks seem to be changing their minds with the wind! There’s always a way though so stay persistent.
 doing great work 💪🏻
sounds like my exact experience with Macquarie Bank. It happened when CoinSpot updated their BSB for me. Was lucky enough to get all my HostPlus over before the block !

Now I have to transfer in via NAB.
So if I change to a SMSF can I invest in bitcoin now?
Yes. It just takes a little tenacity and advice from friends
