Which new app did you recently use?
Is that usually the culprit? Tough to say...usually when people mention new apps I tap them to see what they look like, but haven't really used any. flare.pub was one I clicked on for like 15 seconds recently 🤷♂️
Its not uncommon when using your keys with new nostr apps this happens. Try using this to restore: https://metadata.nostr.com/
It seems to be “newer” clients. @elsat is it because a specific NIP is missing or any general ideas.
Hist.nostr.land as a relay for a back up
If you ever change clients (login to another one) all your relays will change, etc., and your follows will thus change. I had this happen many times until I just decided to create different accounts on each client.😉 Hope this helps.🍀
Is it normal for them to be gone even when you go back to the original client though? Makes sense that a different client would have different data as you said, but seems crazy that even after going back to your usual client (Amethyst for me) they're still wiped
type your Pubkey into nostr.band that's the best way to know the true number. clients don't grab everyone from every relay consistently
