You can get a better price in the groups than hitting the exchanges directly, because you're getting it from a random dude who wants out, while as the exchange has pro vendors charging double.  Pro vendors want more to take on the risk of their Zelle/Paypal/SEPA/ect getting frozen.  Random dude is more concerned with theft.  If the other person is afraid of charge-back risk, then cash-in-mail with an arbitrator would sound good.
