We failed JStark. Dude had amazing opsec. German police figured out his identity due to him not understanding bitcoin privacy guarantees.
😢
Ohh do you have any sources to read about this? Everybody in germany should here about this.
These people are the innovators of our time and should be protected.
You mean how a public service you pay for was cancelled without notice while charging you for it? Aint the police there to solve these things? Only social deviance argues that when on a taxpayer basis.
Making sick rules much? #nipah
He unleashed the pandora box.
We did not fail him. Sure, we could have made it easier for him, but ultimately saying it was our fault removes any element of personal responsibility from him. If you are told that bitcoin is anonymous, and you know you need to have great opsec, you cannot trust and you must verify that claim. Still incredibly sad, he did not deserve to get axed by the government. Sometimes, there is nothing you can do to prevent a totalitarian regime from murdering dissidents.
Honestly, thiss is the reason why, though I am a maxi for sure, I still suggest people use Monero when they need to. Of course, going in and out of that is also a trackable thing.
