I joined a Recovery Cafe (originated in Seattle) and it's been great for building community but it's almost the only place of its kind in the world. AND of course it's for people who admit they have mental illnesses and addictions. https://recoverycafe.org/ Almost only older people go there though there are some in their mid-late 20's. I think I'm one of the oldest. You have lots of options on what you can do there and the coffee is sublime. Only four more classes until I have my barista certificate! This place has to some degree restored my faith in (some) men and the concept of doing things in groups in general though so far I'm only in the one obligatory group, a sharing circle. (But don't worry, I'm more interested in the women. There are just a lot more men who come regularly! WHY!!?!?) Anyhow, it's pretty clear that young people aren't into this kind of stuff lately. Too bad for them because having a social life is a lot of fun.
