All the bloody time! I mean, like, it's extremely rare for me to write a novel that *doesn't* have a MacGuffin!

 @0c1a9324 Coincidentally, this morning I was just thinking again how Maureen McHugh wrote a book in which the protagonist _is_ the MacGuffin, & how delightful that was. (China Mountain Zhang)
