This might be a dumb question. 🫣For Primal, specifically on iOS, to use zaps do I have to KYC to the Primal custodial wallet in the app or is there a way for me to use a non-custodial wallet, like my @Alby Hub on my @Start9? On a previous version of Primal, I recall being asked for name, DOB, etc. to activate the in-app wallet.
I subscribe to Damus Purple and will likely subscribe to Primal Premium at least for desktop use, but would like to be able to use my own self-hosted lightning wallet on my iPhone for zapping rather than KYCing.
Not a dumb question at all. We've done a lot of work to make zapping via external wallets possible in all Primal clients. We implemented that feature across the board, but couldn't get it through App Store review on iOS. Therefore external wallets are supported on Primal for Android and web, but not iOS. 😕
I switched to Android after 14 years on iPhone because Apple sucks
Nostur ios has nwc via react emoji
Sweet. I’ll check it out; thanks!
I’m an idiot. I needed to keep listening to the Citadel Dispatch rip with you and @ODELL. At 1:19:00 you went into full details on the custodial/non-custodial wallet options with NWC on Android. Sorry about wasting your time, but thanks for the reply. I’ll still signup for premium for desktop use, and maybe there will be a workaround for non-custodial with nuts or such in the future. Nostr is going to win. Keep on building great things! 🤙🧡⚡️
love it, was only using zaps on desktop prior
Do you have to full KYC on iOS? I don't recall KYC on Android when setting up my Primal wallet, only need to supply an email?
We require a full name, email, DOB and country of residence.
Thanks Marko, is there somewhere I can view my KYC info?
If you want to reach out to our support@primal.net inbox by email we can share with you the information provided, as long as you are emailing us from the email you used to activate the wallet.
Would be nice to have this info accessible via the app rather than email you, especially if we want to change our email address. Is it on the roadmap?
