Oddbean new post about login | logout The “Burden of the Beast” piece by @sabatomstudios was probably the most timely and prophetic art at #burningman2023 It is made out of reclaimed materials from houses destroyed from climate disasters in New Orleans. Instead of our homes becoming a giant buffalo to carry us to safer pastures we have refugees who must flee with nothing but what they carry. If that isn’t hard enough we criminalize their migration! It is so fitting that this piece was at a burningman where we saw multiple storms hit and flood the desert.
