 I would say it's arrogance that isn't. The original sin of denying reality and proclaiming yourself a deity.

 Not sure what you mean. I'm saying I think that sin is specifically arrogance, not mere willful desire. We all are sinners. We can however learn to sin less, learn to replace it with curiosity, humility, calm, respect, logic. We can embrace the Way. I accept that I have a tendency to sin, to arrogantly deny reality, to assume falsehoods, a danger that can lead to worshipping false idols. However, I forgive myself even as I shy away from those behaviors, as I am in touch with the Truth, and it guides me. I can heal myself by doing as Jesus does. By embracing noncoercion and forgiveness. By getting in touch with nature. That is the path of enlightenment.
