anybody here has an ereader? worth buying?
I enjoyed them for a while but haven’t used lately. Physical books are just so much better… IMO. @jb55 had a massive one for reading technical papers back in the day he used quite a lot though
remarkable
This! Can sketch and write, not just eRead
Have Kindle. Used twice to make the giver happy. She's now threatening to buy me a Kobo. Ereader is better than my phone, but not enough better to justify lugging it around. And if im home there's my computers or physical paper books. If i was living out of a backpack or a locker, an eReader would be great.
Pirate site https://libgen.rs has more ebooks than anyone could read in a hundred lifetimes. No DRM, direct download, can read epub on my phone or computers. If i like the book, i then buy the physical.
Physical books feel nicer but buying an ereader is totally worth it. Getting ebooks is cheap/free and you can travel with it.
Except kindle they won't let you buy books when outside your "home" country it's ridiculous
We have the Kobo readers. They never get connected to the internet. I use Calibre to manage the books and to strip DRM.
Where are you downloading the books? Information wants to be free.
Most of them were purchased on amazon in the past, hence the DRM stripping. Plenty of 🏴☠️ sites out there as well.
Readera!! Love it! 🧡
Yes
Don't buy kindle if nomad you can't buy books when outside your "home" country, also google play books is just easier and you always have the phone on you, so you end up reading more often. Also physical books are nicer when not travelling but you can't upload it to AI to talk with it.
