About paywalls. I prefer to link to unrestricted articles. Where I can provide a gift link, I do. Still, sometimes I want to call attention to something even though it won’t be freely available to everyone. At least people will have the option. I understand the frustration of clicking a paywalled link. I also appreciate the need of publishers and writers to be paid. People have different views and practices. If you don’t like mine, just know you won’t be the first to tell me.
@58fbd252 Same. I don't make assumptions about who subscribes to what. (And of course there are ways that some people have to circumvent some paywalls, which is their business)
@58fbd252 Isn't it so that if you save the article to the wayback machine (internet archive) - while you are logged in as a subscriber - that it's the unpaywalled version that will be shown there? Then you give the wayback link instead of the original in your tweet.
