The importance of the Right to Bear Arms has mainly to do with how strong of a deterrent they are.

The vast majority of defensive gun usages end without any bullets fired, even less so assailants getting injured. Of the 1-3 million defensive gun usages per year, 79% take place on the defender’s own property, and in less than 20% of the cases, a gun is actually fired.

Once the bully sees the stakes are not in his favor, he prefers non-violence. As illustrated by this Ronnie Coleman clip: https://video.nostr.build/7a01d9b99bbcae08b257bd4d5bf347cd04fbb3dfd8332c6131e27828fef60945.mov
Ronnie Coleman was a beast in his prime 💪
Maybe not the best example because Ronnie is a famously positive and kind person! Even without his size, he would be able to deescalate situations. In this clip, he may even be trying to use his size to deflect and be modest about just how kind he is.
