gm NOSTR ☀️ Bitcoin mining is NOT solving "complex math equations"! Let's bust this myth in 60 seconds or less. 👇 https://v.nostr.build/ZiZIqyTZbUbSg0Qg.mp4
Absolute excellence. This better be viral elsewhere.
posting it tomorrow on the other social medias! NOSTR gets my new shorts a day in advance 🤙
it's just guessing :P
oh I love that one. Perfectly explained @kineticfinance Got to show that to someone real quick.
thank you!
First of all thank you for punking that little rat Chamath. Keep it up if possible 😂 Bitcoin hashing is computationally intensive, especially as competition increases. Makes a lot more sense when framed like this instead of the “complex math” nonsense.
Rolling a die gives you a random output for a given input. If you input the same nonce on a block template, you will always get the same output hash. It is guess and check, not rolling a dice. And the "check" part is... Wait for it... Math.
The equation is basically Hash(x) < DIFFICULTY. And it's solving for x. The method it uses to solve the equation just happens to be brute force guessing, but that doesn't mean it isn't solving a difficult equation. Try rewriting that equation with `x` on the left and you'll see how difficult it is.
hash functions seem pretty difficult to me, circuit-wise complexity at least. I don't think it's too unreasonable to say that it's a complex math problem.
