 Supreme Court blocks some of Arizona proof-of-citizenship requirements for November election

The Supreme Court on Thursday declined to revive parts of a Republican-backed Arizona law that could have barred thousands of voters from casting a ballot in the November presidential contest or voting by mail, but it permitted other controversial requirements of that law to take effect.

 Partial Enforcement: The Supreme Court allowed Arizona to enforce its law requiring proof of citizenship for new voters registering with the state form. However, it blocked the enforcement of provisions that would prevent voters from casting ballots in the presidential election or voting by mail if they did not provide such proof when using the federal voter registration form
