 same thing happened several years ago with ends reversed.  Huawei phones were banned in the USA.  for no reason

 @203536d6 @19cbfccb I would have to look it up, but off the top of my head. The US put sanctions on China preventing them from getting the 7mm (?) chip form TSMC or something like that. Apparently, China, in rapid surprising rate created their own 7mm chip and put in a new Huawei Phone. Now Huawei is competing with Apple on a level playing field. Something like that

There was another high risk ImageIO code execution vulnerability on iOS and other products too. These devices are a security minefield.
