Bitwise pressured Coinbase to upgrade their custody to Segwit 👀 https://image.nostr.build/d56fb764fe5dc424b83cf095fff50e8cd6ccea8a288e53b4e85d371eadfc47f0.jpg https://image.nostr.build/c8cfc8b30395d870ccd61d2d6ab3901d5443543abf100e8747a09c43824b9e19.jpg

Technical things matter for a technical revolution.

Have not understood why people still use legacy addresses

Why does Coinbase even still have that?

Coinbase were Big Blockers back in the day and extremely anti segwit.

Fun fact, Craig Wright's claims to be Satoshi divided the Big Block camp, who had majority and allowed developers to implement SegWit by stealth, preventing Big Blocks from hard forking Bitcoin.

This forked Bitcoin Cash, which would fork Craigs shitcoin Bitcoin Satoshi Vision.

It also made a lot of hard fork developers jump ship to Ethereum, which is why Ethereum hard forks are now common and have turned it into a shitcoin by hard forking to recover hacked funds and hard forking to move to Proof of Stake.

Proof of Stake will allow Blackrock to take control of Ethereum once turned into an ETF as the $200B needed to hijack Ethereum is pocket change to the $9T firm.

Bitcoin solves this.

 Love stuff like this.

Really speaks volumes about the "institutions" these funds are trusting with custody when they don't even use segwit addresses. What else could they be doing wrong?

Glad they're pushing for improvements 🙂
