I like the free market aspect of Nostr relays.

-Any given relay is likely to eventually purge, and thus render notes ephemeral. Not necessarily a bad thing.

-People can pay relays for assurances of more longevity for notes. There is some counterparty risk but otherwise that’s all good too. Counterparty risk can be spread out if someone is willing to pay more for duplication.

-People can go through the time and expense of running their own relay. https://image.nostr.build/92c6aedac8b2100137b66b0a6bfe2b10198efe32e9408a93eebd1568e66a9799.gif
That’s one of my favourite features of Nostr
 Great advice
Your third point, the way to go. Self reliance is true freedom.
We have to trust google with web2 and with web 3 we trust nos2x for private key what is the difference
Mostly it’s pretty dumb and will not last. People mistake fiatjaf’s saltiness for smarts. Whereas relays and nsecs are a product of a weak mind amid low IQ density in this space.

I will be back in 6m to tell you I told you so again.
Also, one can do decisions about spamminess of any note. If most relays are wanting to carry a note it must be less spammy, whereas if nobody wants to hodl, touch it it must be spammy. Fuzzy logic.
