Careful, I am British and an extremely serious cook. Our shit food is shittier than other countries shit food, but our best food is often the best in the world. We have held the number one place more often than not for the best restaurant on the planet. Our diet was restricted during the war, so we had low quality food during the 40's to the 80's, but since the 80's we have adopted more global cuisines than anywhere else excluding Australia. Our international food is among the best in the world, our native food is gradually being elevated. I hate the fact everybody thinks we just eat roast dinners and fish and chips. TBF, the older generation still do, but younger generations are extremely diverse in their food culture. Spain is fabulous for Mediterranean food, but they don't have a diverse food culture, same with Italy, Thai, Chinese etc.... Most countries food culture is superb, but lacks variety. Our native food culture lacks, but we have amazing diverse foods instead.
:) London has amazing food, ngl, but as you say its not British, but global and diverse.
We still have a lot of this rubbish, but this is gradually disappearing: https://m.primal.net/JMub.jpg
Those people are found in every country, I'm afraid!
