I always felt like it was the Brits fair and square, but I understood the resentment. Invading the country in 1941 wasn't "fair and square" though, so I can't take anyone's side.
I remember watching a black-and-white newsreel of Brits leaving Persia and being interviewed about it, and the all felt it was not only theft, but they were certain that the Persians did not have the skills or necessary supply lines needed to operate the facilities.
So from 1953 to 1979 Iran was very Westernized, under the leadership installed by the CIA, and then in 1979 the Islamic Revolution changed everything, but not back to the traditional pre-1953 secular monarchy, but into a religious fundamentalist state, something new, different, fun! ;-/
I've read a lot about Israel Palestine, now if I have to read about Iran also it will take years to get up to date.
Ans the more I go back in time, the more I see my previous conclusions were wrong.
I feel I will have to go back recursively until I come to big bag and find out a Israeli will say a Palestinian atom got dangerously near an Israeli atom, and that was anti semitic and deserves retaliation.
And now I'll have to look for Iran-England relationship during the Big Bang.
Só much work
