I agree, butane is typically used to make those concentrated products like wax, shatter, and butter because it's FAST.  

In my experience cold water extraction is the best method for concentrated cannabis w/o any solvents. All you need is ice, water, silk screen bags, and some form of mixing paddles.  

 I had an old washing machine that reeked of week because the people I got it from used it for ice hash 😂
