Oddbean new post about login | logout Curious. I purchased movies on Amazon. Can I download and back them up? Like without the Amazon app? I know how to do this for audible books, but not video.
@ca83e289 Not that I'm aware of but I'd love to know if it was possible.. Also I'll have to research the Kindle book thing. Do they still need to be viewed on a Kindle app once backed up? I'm wondering how it would effect a book where the rights have been withdrawn, which has happened to me.
@ca83e289 While there almost certainly is a technological solution – most likely a complex and fiddly technological solution – I see a major problem with your question that probably means doing so is illegal. Its that word you use: 'purchased'. I think if you read the fine print you'll discover you did not actually *buy* the movies. You bought a license to watch them using Amazon's app or website and have not purchased a right to keep a copy you can watch without them.
