 @17d3178a @2b63efd8 Valproate, Divalproex, Depakote, if it isnt in the article is my eduguess
 @46cd5609 @17d3178a you know, you're the only doctor I like. not that I know many, but I'm glad to have you here.

Jacobin had an article a few months ago about er doctors working at private-equity owned hospitals, and how due to short staffing, grueling hours, etc. they were looking to unionize.
I imagine you don't work in er, but are you at one of these corporate owned facilities, and do you hear of any organizing activities among the MDs?
 @2b63efd8 @17d3178a Yes, and only murmurs in other depts and in sicklier situations.

If push comes to shove, I'll go private practice and detach from my obligate Corporate Pimp parasite and charge an affordable rate until its more obvious to other psychiatrists that unions are necessary.

Potentially even only serve union member patients, 1930s style if I have large enough catchment area.
 @46cd5609 @17d3178a oooh interesting.
real quick, "murmurs" as in you feel there is more attempted organizing among psychiatrists versus other specialties or just that you aren't as involved in those groups to know?
 @2b63efd8 @17d3178a avg age psychiatrist is 61yo, so we are just retiring or going priv prac when able. ER, Anesthesia, Hospitalists, way way more union talks
