- why does it let me write a description but then is not displayed?
- why can't I set the time? 

 It's a first pass, all these things and more will be resolved soon 

 Thanks! I hope i didn't sound demanding. I was curious. What do you think about the global calendar. I cannot imagine a good use for it 

 Not at all, questions and criticisms are always welcome. Global calendar is probably not useful, except right now when there is very little use. I want to add some filters so it can be a personal calendar with public and private events, and show events from friends and related communities.
