No. I can't afford it.
Yes. It is too expensive for me both in terms of fiat and in terms of bifurcation of the user-initiated support from the rest of the support system. This is going to lock out people who want to DIY stuff, and will have very valuable experience to bring to the table, and the community will be poorer for the exclusion of those people.
So, yeah. It's too much. IMO. But, I don't make those decisions. I would never buy one of your servers, anyway, since the hardware is too limiting and I can't do anything else with it. I set up startOS on proxmox on a much more powerful tiny pc that I got used for not much more than one of your servers. I can run anything else on your servers. That's too limited. That being said, you need to generate revenue, so, maybe that's the correct decision. I just think that's a rather ostracizing, un-friendly move that may turn others away from trying your software before considering buying your hardware to run it. 🤷♂️
This makes me less likely to continue to use startOS or recommend it to others. But hey, you do you. 👍
There's no charge for running the OS, StartOS is free and open source, anyone can install it they was he.
Yes. I get that. It's just a matter of shutting off avenues of discussion. I don't like that part of it.
