 How do they define invaded? I’m thinking they’re also including joint interventions during first and second world wars, so not the UK acting alone. This is different to the colonial British Empire. 
 Sure, it is very oversimplified. I mean, each conquest has its own stories & complexities, even in India when it was colonized by Britishers, one city was under the control of Portuguese rule for some reason, people still speak Portuguese in that city.  
 Yeah that’s true. Can’t remember the name of the place now. Full of
Portuguese architecture. Lots of complexities. Similar to Libya which was once an Italian colony in recent history - also full of Italian architecture as well as ruins/influence from Greek, Roman and Ottoman empires.
