 Password manager and photo sync/storage. I’m currently trying this with my old pi

 Me too, but they’re killing me on storage for family. I’m just experimenting right now but Nextcloud works pretty good for archiving photos and bitwarden seems to be a good password manager. I haven’t got it running on multiple phones yet, but it a project I hope to complete sometime

 Good time to upgrade to something with a little more oomph.

Though I’m not sure if I can do to access my work computer which is locked beyond normal levels.

install an instance of OctoPrint and upgrade your 3D printer for wireless printing
pi hole to remove ads from the local network
retro gaming console for behind the television
if none of those strike your fancy & you want to get rid of it you can always spin up a store at https://magicwebstore.xyz/ & sell it to someone on nostr for bitcoin - there's bound to be someone who needs a new-to-them Pi

 Interested in the pi hole. Must look into this. 

I wonder how much can it block? For example can it block Hulu/youtube ads?

 it blocks on the domain level 
because youtube serves ads directly through their own services PiHole can't block a Youtube ad - not sure  about how hulu serves things


think about it more like an adblock browser extension but setup on the network level rather than on each individual device
