they didn't enforce my KYC strictly, just passed it based on GPS and i haven't changed it and they don't care and the support people were very sympathetic i was all ready to go back to the old ways and get a romanian neobank account but i skated right past because of them i mean, you could be cynical about it but i'm still not in a cage so i think it's good

That would be a workaround I suppose. I was a big fan of the Shift debit card though before Coinbase got rid of it several years ago. I was unemployed at the time and had a family to support, so I ended up spending about $15k worth of Bitcoin with that Visa card in 2016. I would just deposit sats to Coinbase every couple weeks and then I could swipe that Visa card anywhere and Coinbase would just liquidate some Bitcoin from my account to cover the USD charge.
