I just set up a new @Alby Hub on @umbrel while I was on Nests and holy shit, it was ridiculously easy. Love what this team is building! 🐝⚡️🔥 https://guides.getalby.com/user-guide/v/alby-account-and-browser-extension/alby-hub/getting-started
Is it in the app store now?
You have to add the community app store. There are instructions or you can schedule an onboarding session.
Good to know I'll definitely need an onboarding session LOL
Here's the link to get into one: https://cal.com/getalby/alby-hub-group-onboarding
Hey @saunter, I’m trying to help my friend @Normies_in_Shambs set up his @Alby Hub but he couldn’t find any openings in your calendar. Is there a way he can schedule time with you or your team?
Better to ask @jeanpaul now, I am a bit out of loop bc of travelling
Thanks I’ll check in after I get back from Chicago
Yes! You can clearly see the path forward and implications for merchants and individuals who wish to be self-sovereign, but don't want the complexities of node management. I'm very excited where Alby is headed. nostr:nevent1qqs2p0ljdy6hsgntn4lnhjlytg3d8jrkvwwmee6rh20ydpqg9xda5tqprfmhxue69uhhqatjv9mxjerp9ehx7um5wghxcctwvshsyg8wd6sn4w07t39x36hekx35lcq55e45qytu2rhz5c20fndftxmwwspsgqqqqqqs5nx6xc
How private is this?
As private as anything else you run locally on your node, but you do need to provide an email address (can be a burner) to sign up for Alby.
currently an Alby account is required for some features like notifications, LSP suggestion, ... which are enabled by default. It's on the roadmap to remove this that people can run it without the account so Alby will not know you run it.
How would a Lightning address work then?
they would not if you fully disable everything. but you can limit the permissions further.
Would be cool to have an npub and extension login option so you can skip email. Nostr-only, baby.
Just wonder how private you are making your node if you transfer your account and sats over to hub.
Hub is running locally so there is nothing transferred other than invoice data from LNURL as I understand it.
