 I need a to buy a smol laser cutter. Desktop that has a nice 10-12 inch bed and doesn't require a massive amount of venting setup. Cutting mostly thick paper and up to 1/4" acrylic. Any hardware folks have good suggestions? 

I am aware the industry has shifted a lot in the past decade, so no interest in shelling out for a 20-30k Epilog, I was previously a heavy use of Epliogs but they didn't belong to me. This cricut thing is not working, too slow.

 so the layered stuff, like cardstock with another piece of paper taped on top doesn't cut as cleanly, is that what you mean? 

also what kind of laser cutter do you use?

 I'm looking to buy a laser cutter. preferably not a high end epilog.
