Not even in Satoshi Nakamoto's worst nightmares. It is the best example of how a community can destroy a great technological design. nostr:nevent1qqsf7t5phaa4dn6euruv3rmnytqh4ugxpukflyc5s254fkgy2crwuwgprpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezuendwsh8w6t69e3xj730qgst55g4cdaslyg72v8dd3y8ej7ekuma5vlafwy2navsscph3sr27csrqsqqqqqpavxew3
Perhaps a good thing to have btc *potentially* destroy USD? Bitcoin can help to tame a completely broken monetary system, whilst the likes of Monero can serve as a free peoples' transaction medium...swapping between the two as necessary? A sort of "don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good" type mentality??
That is a good and balanced mix. Monero is essential when you want to sponsor the "wrong" groups. This was visible on the truck protests in Canada where they chased the bank accounts and those who donated bitcoin to the protesters. Now image that you are zapping someone with a "wrong" opinion here, again the authorities can come after you for questions.
Do you really think Bitcoin can fix a corrupt monetary system? I believe it not only can't, it validates it. "To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete" —Buckminster Fuller
I guess I don't fully expect it, should it go full reserve currency, to fix a corrupt monetary system, that would be quite optimistic. I do think it could cause lots of damage to the ruling class at least for a period of time until the scum in charge work up some new magic. I see the world bending, very long term, towards a brighter/better/more decentralized future. Wins will be counted in small measures and free people will be persistent in their efforts to demand better by obfuscating, circumventing, undermining, creating parallels, etc. Bucky is a great one to quote here, however, it is really difficult to successfully land a paradigm change and any victories should be pursued....everything all at once strategy.
