 @39199a26 Well that's like complaining an 300kmh ICE train is slow because it starts slow. Servers usually don't boot. Desktop PC boot every day. That's where the emphasis is, probably. 😁 
 @2ea2dcbf Not really true any more - in the immutable Linux world, reboots are generally how they get patched.  Meanwhile, I reboot my personal machines maybe once a month?  Sometimes less.  Then again, I also run Linux on my personal machines. 
 @39199a26 I'd argue immutable Linux shouldn't be run on bare metal. The virtualization overhead is minuscule so VMs all the way.

 @39199a26 maybe "immutable" isn't the answer to everything. At least for systems where reboots are disruptive.

If your hypervisors run clustered at least sequential reboots won't hurt your payloads.
