Wow, my phone just went off to test the National Wireless Emergency Alert System.
I wish, in retrospect, that people had the presence of mind to warn me about it ahead of time, using social media, blog posts, broadcast news segments and other means.

@03a95182 Well I saw chatter -about- it. Doesn’t mean that counts as a warning exactly, but I was more aware of it. Cudos to those with the foresight to test the ‘I wonder if this will just vibrate if on silent mmkay?’ switch. I added 2 + 2 on the shade they were throwing at alert settings then. It was like an alarm went off
I was in a crowd during Trumps ‘wonder what this switch does?’ Alert, and through many Amber Alerts since, it’s entertaining to watch people ‘jump’ in surprise. I’m a jumper.
Evidently the latter system is working.
