@f661363a Can't push my fork of a project into GitLab because git log contains github email aliases.Why does this prevent you from doing so? Just keep the ugly aliases in your repo and don't give a damn about it.

Why would they configure it in such a way to block this? 

 @e277f9e5 just FYI, it's the official KDE GitLab invent.kde.org. And the repo is pretty relevant to KDE.

I've no idea why they did so, I'll probably ask around. 

 @f661363a Oh yeah you should definitely ask the maintainers of this instance then.

Maybe they want to prevent people from forking Github repos for some reason?
