 LNbits running on Phoenixd tutorial!
Phoenixd is an incredibly easy self-custodial lightning node that is managed, and is the perfect solution for someone who wants to run a lightning node but not have to bother with channel management pain.

But channel management is no pain, it's fun. I love it.

Only 20mins! From nothing to vps, domain, phoenixd and lnbits 🔥🔥🔥
 Thank you Ben!
I'm but a small cog in a massive FOSS project of insanely brilliant contributors 🤩
If I want to setup a pay link for my domain but lnbits is hosted on a subdomain, how can I do this? E.g. hosted on lnbits.domain.com but want address of zap@domain.com
Hmmmm, I think you can use Cloudflare and the nip05 extension. That can also make an lnaddress, but isn't set to domain
Ty sir. I'll check it out! Not quite sure what you mean by use cloudfare though. I know how to create nip05 using .well-known
Oh cool, just do that for lnurlp and your lnaddress that's easiest
Hey Ben, sorry. I'm not sure what you mean. How do I link a nip05 address to lnurlp and lnaddress in lnbits?
This combination is golden, you will incur some fees but it’s a very solid funding source. Soon there will be Nostr Wallet Connect as well which will allow you to connect your own node as a funding source without VPN. I imagine LNbits will be smart enough in the future to automatically switch between funding sources based on rules or fallback logic
Fallback funding sources was talked about since the beginning, it's def a killer feature.
We have nwc support, but Vlad Stan has also been working on a reverse funding source, that just has a direct websocket connection from the local machine to lnbits, as its usually on clearnet. That'll work very well.
We actually have a big client we are working with at the moment, and for legal stuff they have to run the funding source locally, so need nwc/reverse funding source.
Noob question. How are you able to receive sats right away?
Noon answer. Idk. It's Acinq magic
 *Noob
Yes. They open a channel on demand. If the sats received are less than the cost of the channel, they hold it until that fee threshold is met.
Ok that makes sense. It sounds like the fee threshold is 20,000 sats?
If you leave the desired channel size to the default 2,000,000 sats, yeah. The fee scales with that.

It's on my todo list for some time, now I hope to finally made it. Also what about Breez SDK? It's mention in the latest LNbits release but not in the funding list. Breez has slightly lower fees if I'm right and you can still open a channel manually if needed (could be the same with phoenixd thus
