TIL that recording engineers can usually tell if a guitar was recorded with the instrument input on a Focusrite Scarlett interface instead of through a proper DI box. it has a particular sound and it isn't very good. 

 @c721880c what's the difference in sound? And does it depend on the quality of the DI box. I thought they just change impedance.
