Oddbean new post about login | logout There's a reason I'm part of the Cult of Vim (as they call it) and not the Church of Emacs (though I had dabbled into Emacs before through Doom Emacs).
I loved emacs (wth evil bindings) for the longest time. Over time I determined it wasnt worth the effort keeping all the packages from breaking. Now I just use nvim with no plugins, although i do have a spacemacs-style command launcher using fzf. I’ve effectively built an IDE into my terminal now, with commands that launch nvim at certain places in the file.
