We usually only force close if the peer has been down for a significant long time (over two weeks or so). However, a peer is always welcome to direct us not to close the chanbel if his node is down.
It says 2mil channel is 5k sats but when I go to buy it its like 15k sats 🤔

Gotcha. Didn't take into consideration I was paying the closing fees as well. If you made all of the fees visible/obvious it would probably help! When it says a channel is 5k sats and then the bill comes up and its 15k sats its kind of like "huh?" (I still bought a channel)
