...perhaps we should move beyond besmirching them by equating private equity and hedge fund behaviors to vulture behavior, as the former are more on par with colonialism than a carrion scavenger.

Right. Vultures only clean up what's already dead. Private equity and hedge fund groups actively kill thriving businesses.

Can't say that for VC's.
