Oddbean new post about login | logout The only client doing this that I can recall is Primal. It automatically marks notes as trending as soon as they're posted by certain people, with zero interactions and done immediately. It's weird.
I can understand that at ultra-infancy, base of the adoption curve numbers of users. As Nostr is growing they should probably give up on prioritising specific users and focus on metrics instead. User “relevancy” can still be a metric without being the only metric, although I would say it should be scrapped altogether
We've had some issues with our trending algo in the past, but this should now be resolved. All trending notes should be based on genuine engagement. Please let me know if you encounter any examples where this is not the case.
