Wow I thought the introduction of ordinals made an empty block (ergo mempool) very unlikely
Ah the mystery of the cheeky miner, placing an empty block quickly so they can start looking for the next block early and before they can replace it, another block is found. Overall less income, no necessarily anything to do with ordinals. 🫡
