Oddbean new post about login | logout Facebook deleted. Instagram deleted. LinkedIn deleted. I didn't really use those platforms besides attempts at purple pilling and orange pilling. I don't think I've had one success story from theee platforms though, so they're easy to exit from. I can't bring myself to delete my Twitter account though. I feel that having conversations on Twitter about Nostr can still result in a lot of success and there's a lot more work to be done with purple pilling Bitcoiners.

That's what I was afraid of too. I had so many family members contact me about scammers hitting them up on Instagram this past year. They already all know I don't use those platforms so I hope, fingers crossed and confidence medium, that people use their brains.
I deactivated my Twitter account today for being tired of all the rage bait that's going on there. People just say whatever they have to so that others reply. I won't be part of that nonsense.

I never used LinkedIn. People would say happy work anniversary to me and that's basically it 🤣
For Finding jobs, showing your accomplishments and credentials, etc LinkedIn is the best place period. Other places are growing and taking share but it’s still 1000x bigger than everything else combined in my experience of normie job hunting. Most annoying features or KYC are completely optional and add nothing, just avoid imho.

I use FB to get parts & knowledge for my young timer. It's surprisingly effective. Lot of boomers ready to share I assume. I deleted Instagram years ago, I never got a feeling it is bringing me anything. Twitter I still do have account but I stopped going there months ago. It was not that easy, it is really addictive. LinkedIn is again surprisingly effective for small businesses to get attention and ultimately sales, you just need to be active. But if you don't need that, then I agree, just work anniversaries and stupid work offers.
May I ask why folks hate on LinkedIn so much? Almost every job I’ve ever gotten was in some way through that platform. There’s ridiculous noise there too, but it’s super powerful to network and find jobs. I think it’s very valuable as an individual to just have a page, never publicly post, show your direct projects credentials and accomplishments, and not use it like social media.
Personally, I've had LinkedIn since it began and had a complete and updated profile. The only benefit I received from it was work anniversaries from people I barely know. I've had the same job for 15 years. I'm not actively looking for a new job. I received zero value from LinkedIn. Your milage may vary depending on your use cases.

I deleted FB years ago and LockedOut soon after, but I still have my Twitter account despite only logging in 2-3 times per year. There’s something different there, and even if I don’t actually go there, I am reluctant to break the connection. And yes, I’d love for some of my remaining Twitter/X contacts to join Nostr.
