How on earth did nostr even work without nsec.app?
extension works ok
Not on iOS or Android though!
Android Firefox 👍 https://i.nostr.build/rvQG.jpg
That's true, I forgot about FF!
What about Nostore? https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/nostore/id1666553677
Wow!
This list shows lots of other extensions it might be worth checking out as well :) https://github.com/aljazceru/awesome-nostr#nip-07-browser-extensions
Tried it. Nostrudel won’t accept the nsecbunker URIs it generates. 🤷♂️
Use username@nsec.app as a nostr address
what? I gotta try this
It didn't fully work for me, only partially. But the fact that it can init the loging through this adress is still very cool! It however never finished the logi loading, after the confirmation in the nsecApp.
I love the concept,💖 but I tried it on my Pixel 7a running Graphene and it hangs indefinitely spinning at the point where I try to import my password protected nsec...😢
There is no support for password protected nsec import yet, plus graphene likely to have other issues - this thing need web push notifications to work properly, not sure if those work on graphene.
OK, thanks...🙏🏻😄 It did not seem to offer me any other options...🤔
It's asking for a new password that will be used to do e2ee sync of key between devices - you will use your username and this password to log into nsec.app
I appreciate your replies, thank you.🙏🏻😄
So I just tried again, and it says "Please fill out all fields" in red when I try to procede without entering a password...😜
OK, I tried one more time following a simple "Login" path. I entered only my npub and my nsec... This time, I got a red "Something went wrong" message...🤔
I like the idea but it looks to me like it's storing an nsec in local storage in the browser. What's the difference between this and using a web client? Am I missing something obvious? Is it just trusting one site vs many? https://image.nostr.build/88c6a6624c8feb0d2d2080a6456375f2b16c11c14a5cd2cdb4d6da57ec4aaabf.jpg
You store it in one page that doesn't interact much with anything – compared to storing your nsec on many pages that load content from all over the place and could have many many vulnverabilities. Like using a password manager.
Amber and Amethyst have been running smoothly for a while now. I prefer it over nsec.app for that particular combo.
