You should ensure you are comfortable restoring the setting from the system firmware setup, as this change may cause the system to not boot into Linux or cause other system instability.

I care much more that I'm able to continue to boot into Linux than I do about which suspend mechanism it is going to try to use.

Are you suggesting that this warning is benign? 

 @39199a26 that's a generic warning for all the different BIOS options.
