For a few years after I was in amazement, shock, and confused, literally turned my whole outlook inside out. About three years ago I started exploring it. A year ago, it clicked. It was a journey to understand the universe - or God - was a huge part of life for me. I felt connected in a way I couldn't explain to most people without them be receptive to how amazing it is. Genuine question I've never understood - why take orders from God? Or a priest? Its just not that obvious to me why people accept to be overruled by any authority, be it god or govt. those things bother me too. I don't hate them, but I'm uncomfortable with them. I've been investigating this within myself and part of that is because I believe (not rationally) that one person is better than other. so when I see that externally, it resonates with this belief and I get upset. it's hard for me to even talk about things I'm interested in because I'm afraid I'm not the best person talking about it. your post helped me to be with this a bit more.
