Maybe he is, but I think the general concept of the work is interesting and important. I'm generally skeptical of people who say disclosure is a mission yet hide it behind a paywall. However (and I don't know what's behind the paywall, so I'm speculating), it's really common for all types of research to be behind paywalls. That's the biggest lesson I've learned from academia, and frankly, a lot of it, somewhere along the line, was at least in part funded using tax dollars. A lot of the paywalls I've ran into seem sketchy for that reason, but my main point is that it's pretty common. Again, I don't know if it's his research or just some other documents he doesn't necessarily own.

I understand the need to fund research and have no idea how to balance that with open access for people who aren't using it commercially. I'm skeptical that his stuff has commercial value, but I have no idea.
If it’s paywalled that’s the final nail in the coffin for his credibility if there was any to begin with.

Screams scam.
