Does the increase in hardcoding lead to frantic debug cycles in exponential fashion?
No. It just leads to less reuse of code and tons of little applications everywhere.
What is "hardcoding in production"?
Very quickly development? Or many copy-paste blocks in code? Or organizing of many programmers for coding?
Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Don't forget. Premature optimization is the root of all evil.
